A New Chapter for Destiny Dance – Fall 2025-2026 School Year Update & Registration Info

April Lawyer

Dear Destiny Dance Families,

I hope this message finds you well and enjoying a joyful summer. As we begin preparing for the 2025–2026 school year, I want to personally share some important updates with our dance family—changes that reflect both the realities of the present and our commitment to continuing to provide high-quality, nurturing dance education for your children.

Due to the current economic climate, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to move out of our current studio space. Like many small businesses, it has been a challenge to sustain operations in today’s financial environment. After much thought and prayer, I’ve chosen a new direction that will allow us not only to stay afloat—but to thrive.

Beginning this fall, Destiny Dance will be sharing space with James School of Dance Arts (JSDA) in McLean. I want to emphasize that while we will be sharing space, Destiny Dance and JSDA will remain entirely separate programs. Destiny Dance will continue to operate independently—holding our own classes, maintaining our incredible teaching staff, and upholding our mission, values, and culture.

I’ve worked closely with Xavaire, the owner of JSDA, who is a respected colleague and a supporter of Destiny Dance’s vision. We’ve agreed on a shared schedule that allows both programs to flourish while fostering a sense of community. For those of you who participated in Harmony in Motion last year, you’ve already danced in this space—and you know it’s a beautiful, professional environment. I’ll also be sharing photos soon for those who haven’t yet seen it.

📍 Studio Address:
James School of Dance Arts (JSDA – soon to be Dance Xperience)
1365 Beverly Rd, Floor 3, McLean, VA 22101

Please Note: JSDA will be changing its name to Dance Xperience. So, if you're visiting the studio for the first time, you may still see “JSDA” signage through August. The name will officially change to Dance Xperience shortly after.

🔔 All questions, communication, and registration for Destiny Dance should go through Destiny Dance directly. Please do not contact JSDA/Dance Xperience regarding our programs—we are happy to help and here to assist you with anything you need.

✨ What’s Staying the Same:

  • Our recreational program will begin in September, as usual

  • We’ll continue offering the styles you love: Ballet, Jazz, Hip-Hop, Modern, Acro, and more

  • The heart, care, and excellence you’ve come to expect from Destiny Dance

🔁 What’s Changing:

  • Location: All classes will now be held at JSDA (soon to be Dance Xperience) in McLean

  • Registration process: Our updated school-year schedule will be available online next week

  • A few minor schedule adjustments may be necessary to accommodate the shared space

📝 Register Your Dancer:
Once the schedule is live, we ask that you register your dancer as soon as possible so we can begin preparing for class sizes, staffing, and studio needs. Early registration helps us continue to plan thoughtfully and deliver the best experience possible for every student.

We’re still Destiny Dance—same heart, same vision, just in a new space that allows us to keep doing what we love: empowering young dancers to express themselves, grow in confidence, and experience the joy of movement.

Thank you for your continued trust and support. We understand this is a big change, and we welcome any questions. We’ll be here every step of the way to keep you informed and supported.

Here’s to a beautiful new chapter. We can’t wait to dance with you this fall!
